Pfft. Fashion victim fashion. Forget about come-fuck-me pumps. I prefer my either-fuck-me-or-fuck-off ballerina flats.

Aaah, fetish boots. You never cease to make my feet hurt just looking at you.

Color is fixable, but these are so not even remotely practical!

I think I read it's just meant to be an art concept- an indictment of the high cost of being fashionable. At least, I pray that's the case.

Lady Gaga will probably order a pair, though.

Yes, I think these are "art concept" shoes. Why Gaga would wear them is eyond me, they would not be flattering.

foot fetishism disguised as art

Heee!

Yeah, I saw those the other day. Not impressed. I expect we'll see them on the fashion runways within a couple years, because someone will want to make a statement. :P

I *love, love, LOVE* my new stompy boots that I bought at the thrift store! THey're very comfortable (surprise!) and they support my ankles as well. Have been wearing them everywhere. Wore my new sweater today. Wind was blowing and little spits of snow were about. Got lots of envious compliments on the sweater. :D Have several folks ready to make a pilgramage to Dallas to hit the thrift stores for good winter clothes. :D

Am making pretty good progress on a variety of costumes, but Lee's needs to be finished up first. Will probably have to put it on hold (again) tomorrow as new baby is due and I may have Sid Vicious until his little brother comes along (Megan is being induced tomorrow with the possibility of a c-section due to potential complications). Bought some Meron makeup and have ordered more colours. I love buying local when I can. :D

I havent made any progress on any costumes. Yeah, those shoes are not useful in any way other than to make a statement. Even if I could managed to scoot or shuffle in them, I would clock my head on door jams and hanging lamps.

yay for thrift store boots! Yay for the sweater. Yes, Dallas gets lots of good winter clothing, we just dont wear much of it or the really thick ones.

Oh they are amazing, and an accurate comment on standards of beauty required

These are "art shoes", and I can't see how anyone can do anything in them- no dancing, driving, commuting, shopping...

But then again, if one can afford them and wear them, one has house elves to do all the work.

They honestly scare me but I can see them working as an artsy fartsy project.

I think the designer was a woman. But these are art shoes designed to make a "statement on the condition of society and beauty standards". I look that issue this way, if "society" doesn't "like" the beauty standards, then reject them. Do not spend any money on it, don't watch it on TV or the movies, or read it, or get magazines on it. The market dictates a lot. If no one spends money, they will start whistling a different tune.

Start having the "beautiful people pagents"- based on brains, helping others, changing things for the positive. Not because they can tap dance, apply makeup, and look good in a bathing suit.

All part of the GOP's plot to keep women from escaping ;)

What? Everyone knows "The Arts" are supported by socialist democrats! ;>

All I can say is "oh my aching back" even watching someone try to walk in those makes my back and feet hurt.
10th-Oct-2012 11:00 pm (UTC)
I keep thinking of my head banging into door jambs.

Rember the "monkey walk" dance? Could definately do that in those shoes.
10th-Oct-2012 11:29 pm (UTC)
I am getting sprained ankles just looking at those, ack!
10th-Oct-2012 11:43 pm (UTC)
What ugly shoes! Give me my NB sneakers any day.

Yes, or cowboy boots.
