shrek kitty
I've been really busy at work this week.

Just FYI there will be fangurls at my house Sat, September 15th!  So any "Dallas TX" locals who want to say hi to Sabrebabe and Irish, pop on by.  I'm taking a few days off while Deb is here to do crafty goodness. Fangirls will be driving up Friday the 14th, and Sabrebabe will be here until Wednesday or so.  If anyone doesnt have to report to work, you can pop by Monday or Tuesday even.

One of the reason I am quiet is I am pounding away on my SSHG exchange project in the evenings.  I am thinkig I am close to done, right, but the muse is demanding details.  It's taking lots of files, which I back up constantly.  But so far I am pleased.

The new ram seems to make the PC happy.

Cats are fine.

My theatrical lenses arrived!   I must resist the temptation to try them.  LOL.  Aside from a black pair for Snape, I have some silver ones.  Silver...yes.

I still have more con pics to post.  Please be patient.

Silver should be very interesting!

I've contemplated getting a pair to make my eyes green...

they have lots variations including several greens. Although I think they may be better suited to brown eyes. as some let aspects of you natural eye color come through.

Given your mad costuming skillz, you might enjoy Lady Vadore. Amazing use of thrift store stuff, not to mention LEDs.

Looking her up right now. I can find thing in thrift, but alot of thrifting has to do with luck.

Not advanced enough to try LEDs. Mostly because the wiring and power, and they required hand sewing-LOL. I saw an awesom costume at Ascendio, the gal had bike wire leds sewn as trim on a cloak. Sadly, the illumination does not show up in photos.

I thought they were supposed to be there on Labor day weekend?

Silver? Nick? That will be really cool :)

Tell me about, I've been so damn busy with getting the girls squared away with school and college, I haven't had time to breathe. Hayley loves college, but I figured she would. As for Laney, you'd think I was taking her to the pits of hell every morning :(

Labor Day weekend is the drive through to San Marcos. I will be bringing Sabrebabe back to Dallas to fly home the weekend of the 14th.

Silver! What are you planning to do with silver? Would that be for Nearly Headless Nick?
25th-Aug-2012 04:31 pm (UTC)
Yes, ghost eyes for Nick. =)

Fangirl Day will be glorious! I'll be with you all in spirit. *muah

Best of luck on Exchange project.

It's like 80% done but the muse keeps wanting me to fiddle with it.

Where are the northern fangurls? There are flocking fangurls in the east, the west, south, southwest, hell, even a few in the midwest, northeast, northwest, and inbetweens, but the north? Leave it to me to be the broke, odd fangurl out. I live vicariously through you ladies!

Have FUN though, when my nerdy daughter gets older (oh yes, she is 5 and already has her own *Nerd Nook*), I will be the embarassing mom dressed up at conventions while she pretends not to know me. I am at the point where I don't care! Sad at my age, but maybe that's a good thing? Love your theatrics droxy, everyone got talent but not everyone GOOD at utilizing, catch me?

More pics! More pics! Oh wait, you are doing your exchange fic. *sigh* dammit
25th-Aug-2012 04:34 pm (UTC)
Depends how north you are. On my map, someoen hit my profile page waaaayyyy up north near Hudsons Bay. This is place where polar bears probably hang out at the local dump.

Oh yes, I signed up for the exchange! Its probably the only on line fan creative event I do.

More pics coming.

And I've loved all the pics I've been seeing! Fantastic! Thank you for sharing them!

Best prices I've seen for theatricals.

Glad your computer and cats are fine. Good luck with SS/HG. I'm stuck in Luciusland and heading for snapecase very soon. Why do we do this to ourselves as writers, take on such commitments? Because we are in need of being committed to the local writer-asylum. And it's fun, we get to have a fic no one else wrote! ;) one we want to read. Here is Loki on the icon.
25th-Aug-2012 11:05 pm (UTC)
I think writers do it because they have a story to tell and its even better if more folks read it.

While I am pleased with my project so far, it's getting "finicky".

silver eyes!! oooooh .. I wasnt my white lenses back, loved them, but silver, wow, cannot wait to see.

Best prices I've seen for theatricals.

They have prescription for the same price as plano but only for farsighted folks.

Cats are fine is good news as are the lenses. I might try getting my new lenses if our freaking eye doctor doesn't take a day off AGAIN when he has other patients cancel and thinks he can thus cancel everyone else coming in...anywho with my own time off FINALLY will do best on blogs and those dang con blogs, ta!

Apologies for late reply - had time for drive-by reading but not commenting last weekend.

The silver lenses look amazing. I'd been looking at theatrical lenses myself while musing about possible costumes, though my choice is rather more restricted as I need prescription ones. I noticed though that they say a maximum 8-hour wear time - have you worn them before, and is that your experience? 8 hours is ample for a night out, but not so much for a day of embodying someone else at a con.
31st-Aug-2012 01:45 pm (UTC)
Since I do not wear these all the time, I've worn them for 12 -16 at a con. You keep using drops, and you do not sleep in them. But for a halloween party or wearing to work they should be fine.

I could use prescription. However the prescription they are offered in (nearsighted) doesnt help us old people who get farsighted.

SoI got plano lenses.
